Firemoth / Privacy
A little clarity on privacy.
We want you to know what happens to information you share with us. This notice covers the Firemoth company hub at firemoth.com and firemoth.no. Updated 13 October 2026.
Who looks after this website
Firemoth AS looks after this company hub. Firemoth AS is owned by Firemoth LLC, our engineering consulting and design firm in Dallas, Texas. You can contact us with a privacy question or a request concerning your information.
Browsing and hosting
DreamHost hosts this website. Our images, fonts and public-page scripts are served from the site. We do not use advertising trackers, sell visitor information or embed third-party analytics.
The hosting server processes technical request information, including IP addresses, requested pages and request times, to deliver and secure the site. These hosting logs are separate from the optional page counts described below. Hosting and email providers may process information outside Norway, including in the United States.
Your cookie and analytics choices
Ordinary browsing does not need a tracking cookie. The cookie and analytics notice lets you accept or decline optional page counting. Both choices keep the site available. We remember your choice in this browser's local storage for up to 180 days; this preference does not identify you or follow you between websites. The .com and .no sites store their choices separately.
If you accept analytics, the site records the date and the page category visited in aggregate counters on our own hosting account. The analytics store does not contain your IP address, name, email address, browser details, a visitor identifier, the full URL, query strings or referring websites. Counts expire after 365 days and are removed when another view is counted or an editor opens the report. They describe page views, not individual people. We do not send page counts to an external analytics company.
You can change your choice at any time using . Declining or withdrawing stops further counting. Your previous contributions cannot be identified within the aggregate counts. The site also respects supported Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals.
Contacting us
The contact form asks for your name, reply email address and message so we can respond to your enquiry. Please send only what is necessary for the conversation and avoid sensitive personal information. We use enquiries to communicate with you and, where relevant, take steps you request before entering an agreement.
Form submissions are saved in a private enquiries inbox on our hosting account, accessible only to the two authorized website editors. Enquiries expire after 30 days and are removed on the next valid contact submission or when an editor opens the inbox. If we continue the conversation by email, the resulting email correspondence is handled separately and kept for as long as needed for that conversation or relevant business obligations.
The form uses an essential, secure session cookie to protect submissions and show confirmation. Form sessions expire after two hours. Short-lived security summaries use keyed hashes of the network address and reply email, plus a keyed message fingerprint, to limit repeated or automated submissions. These summaries do not contain raw IP addresses or message text and expire within 24 hours. Expired summaries are removed on the next valid contact submission or when an editor opens the inbox.
Existing email links reveal a contact address only when you choose to open the details. The reveal feature does not send a message or add you to a mailing list. Opening your email app is your choice.
The private site editor
The editor at /admin/ is limited to two approved Firemoth accounts. It uses an essential session cookie and Google Sign-In. Google provides a verified identity and email address to check access; the editor does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive or calendars. Account identifiers, drafts, publication history and security checks are stored privately on our hosting account. These records support website management and security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us about your personal information, request access or correction, and request deletion or restriction where applicable. You can also raise an objection or withdraw optional analytics consent using the controls above. Contact us through the contact page. You may also contact Datatilsynet, the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, about a privacy concern.
Other Firemoth websites
Midstream, the engineering portfolio and the historical archive are separate websites. Their technology and information handling may differ from this hub. This notice describes the features on the main .com and .no hub.
